Valentine's Day

If I knew it was going to be the last time...

I would see you fall asleep,

I would tuck you in more tightly

And pray the Lord your soul to keep.

I'd see you walk out the door,

I'd hug you and I'd kiss you and

Ask you back for more.

If I knew it was going to be the last time...

I would be there to share your day,

I would be there every moment

And not let it slip away.

For surely there's tomorrow

To make up for the past,

We always get a second chance

And everything will last.

But just in case I might be wrong,

And today is all I get,

I'd like to say, "I love you"

And I hope you don't forget.

If tomorrow never comes you'll surely

Regret the day

You let the hours pass with

Something left to say.

So hold your loved ones close today

And whisper in their ear.

Tell them how you love them,

And that you hold them dear.

Take time to say,

I'm sorry,      thank you,    it's okay.

And if tomorrow never comes,

You'll have no regrets about today.
